Jewel Flakes Material with Caustics (Houdini + Redshift)
Procedural Jewel Grid + Brute Force Caustics Setup (Houdini + Redshift)
This Houdini project file includes the full setup from my Instagram reel — a procedural “Dividing Cell Grid” algorithm (inspired by Entagma) turned into jewel clusters, with a custom Redshift material featuring embedded flakes and working brute force caustics.
Highlights:
- No keyframes — all motion driven by attributes and VEX
- Optimized Redshift render setup using Brute Force Caustics with dome lighting
- Custom jewel material with flakes, subsurface, and dispersion
- Clean node layout, annotated for learning
Great for learning:
- Procedural motion techniques
- Shader-building in Redshift
- Caustics rendering and optimization
